Good Morning Greenville Avenue!

It's that time again Chucks, The Greenville Avenue St. Patricks Day Parade.

I know, I know, the creativity of the Parade seems to erode a bit each year with some peoples idea of a "float" being a pickup truck with a magnetic sign on the side plugging a Drywall or Pool Cleaning business. At least the driver's wearing a green plastic Derby! Other lame floats include an enormous Bud Light Truck. Cool, Make him honk!

But this event is not really about the actual Parade anyway. It's about the party and the people. It's about wearing authentic Irish Shamrock spring antennae and shooting silly string. It's about drinking in the street in the morning, and walking around in the awesome AM hours of a day that usually signals the first exhilarating signs of spring.
It's about hanging out on the corner of Lovers and Greenville in front of "Condoms to Go" and "Shuck n' Jive", Shuckin' and Jivin' with your friends, and marveling at the mass and variety of human life-forms that this event drags out of bed for beer and cheer.
Truly a beautifully tacky tradition, and a moment to savor.

See ya there tomorrow morning. Yee-Ha.
(some of the floats are awesome actually, or at least lewd)
